The success story of the electromechanical servo drives of the TOX®-ElectricDrive product range is continuing cheerfully! While the electromechanical servo drives from the technology company TOX® PRESSOTECHNIK GmbH & Co. KG, D-88250 Weingarten took the experts by storm across all fields of production and assembly some years ago, the company from Upper Swabia is now causing a stir yet again with the new series TOX®-ElectricDrive type EX-F!
Based on the proven basic components like planetary threaded spindle and directly driven motor, engineers succeeded in developing highly compact as well as extremely fast electromechanical servo drives, despite the larger sized components. These are characterised by a very high power density, as mentioned the larger sized components (for shorter cooling down times and the associated increase in cycles), the consistent design for continuous operation and the integrated highly accurate force measuring.
Five sizes cover a broad range of applications: From type EX-F 005 with a maximum piston speed of 800 mm/s and nominal forces of 5 kN pushing or 3 kN pulling to type EX-F 100 with a maximum piston speed of 300 mm/s and nominal forces of 100 kN pushing or 30 kN pulling. What all sizes and performance ratings have in common is the option of short-term overload in the range of 10% of the rated power as well as a positioning/repeat accuracy in the range of +/- 0.01 mm!
Furthermore, the new, ultra fast press force drives TOX®-ElectricDrive EX-F can be supplied in the two standard stroke lengths 150 mm and 300 mm, and special designs can be produced on request. One option is protection class IP65, and otherwise a broad range of accessories like an automatic lubrication device is also available for the new servo drives. The drive units are supplied as ready-to-install systems, including controller and supply lines.
The servo drives TOX®-ElectricDrive EX-F are suitable for all production and assembly applications, requiring reproducibly accurate press forces in continuous operation, for example for pressing in, compressing, joining/clinching, caulking and the like.
